Description
Brown Color Enhanced Mulch
Yet another crisp, vibrant color option in our shredded Color Enhanced Mulch line. Our brown color enhanced mulch will not only assist with moisture retention, weed control, and temperature regulation, but wood mulches also provide the additional benefit of adding organic material to the underlying soil. This works to continually improve the soil as the mulch layer decomposes. It will also provide several months of rich color to any landscape.
Other tips for successfully using our brown color enhanced mulch in your yard:
- Mulch will help with temperature control in your flower and garden beds. It acts as an excellent insulator and will help in regulating soil temperature. Your mulch assists in keeping plant roots cool in the heat of summer and warm in the winter. Mulching is especially important for any new planting completed in autumn as temperatures begin to decrease.
- Mulching will help prevent weeds. A 3-inch layer of mulch blocks access to sunlight which can help prevent weeds from even sprouting to begin with. If weeds do take root in your mulch, they are much easier to remove from loose mulch than they would be from firmly packed earth.
- Recommended depth for initial installation of mulch is 3-4″. Annual upkeep after that often requires an additional inch or two of new mulch to replace that which has decomposed, providing nutrients into your existing soil.
- Color enhanced mulches are best installed on sunny days when they can have a chance to dry/cure in your landscaping beds. For long-lasting color, it is best to allow 24-48 hours of rain-free time after installation.
